📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Buckhead who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Buckhead Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories in and around Buckhead today:
- Defense contractor Anduril Industries plans to build a western Atlanta facility. The company, which takes its name from a sword in the Lord of the Rings series, says it will create 180 jobs in Fulton County over the next three years. Anduril was founded by Palmer Luckey, who is well-known for being fired by Facebook over his support of President Donald Trump. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- After a two-year hiatus, the Beloved Benefit has returned and raised $6.3 million for local nonprofits. The event, held on Jul. 7, was covered financially by Dan Cathy, a Chairman of Chik-fil-A, and Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons. The event featured performances from notable names like Usher, Maroon5, and Jeff Foxworthy, who delivered a passionate speech about the importance of community and mutual aid. (SaportaReport)
- Metro Atlanta has added 65,000 residents in the past year, bringing the population to 5.1 million. Although the increase is larger than those experienced in 2020 and 2021, it is lower than the increases throughout the 2010s. Fulton County added 11,200 residents and DeKalb added 5,430 residents. The Director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, Anna Roach, is hopeful about the population increase and what it means for the future. (The Reporter)
