🌱 Apartment Complex Approves Airbnb + 10th Street Park Upgrade

Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:
- A Buckhead apartment complex has given its approval to its residents to use Airbnb, as it brings in short-term rentals so their residents can generate more income and can give them a better understanding of who all is staying there. Residents can rent their apartments for up to 180 days, and management will take 25 percent from each booking. The community has had mixed reactions to this announcement: some believe that such short-term leases are risky, in terms of potential crime increases and liability, while others have said that such short-term leases are already happening. - Midtown's 10th Street Temporary Park is getting upgraded to include a small dog park, a climbing structure, and a space dedicated to games. It will also include sculptural seating with color-changing lighting LED lighting and a new mural on the northwest wall of the park. This project is set to begin this month. (Buckhead Reporter)
- Reconstruction of a fire-damaged bridge over South Fork Peachtree Creek has finally begun, after a fire in Aug. of 2021 forced the bridge to close. The bridge is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, according to the Atlanta Department of Transportation. This closure has limited the number of customers that businesses in that area have had and has lengthened the commutes of nearby residents, so this comes as a relief. (Buckhead Reporter)
