APS Completes Leadership Changes

The Atlanta School Board on Monday completed its leadership change, electing Reuben McDaniel as vice chairman.

The unanimous vote followed the board's election last week of Chairwoman Brenda Muhammad, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Both moves came after a Fulton County judge allowed the board to accept the resignation of former Chairman Khaatim Sherrer El and former Vice Chairwoman Cecily Harsch-Kinnane, according to the newspaper. The changes are expected to help the board retain accreditation for APS high schools.
