π± Ashford Perimeter Tenant + Overwhelming Airbnb Listings
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Buckhead.
Good morning, Buckhead. Carla Varner here with your fresh copy of the Buckhead Daily, filled with all the things you need to know about what's going on locally. Let's do it...
First, today's weather:
Cloudy, heavy t-storms; humid. High: 83 Low: 72.
Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:
- The InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta has chosen INTELITY's smart-room tablets to elevate the guest experience. The goal of the smart-room tablets is to automate guest services and enable contact-free communication between staff and guests. With the ubiquity of screens, hospitality experts are confident in guests' ability to use and understand the technology. (Hospitality Net)
- The Ashford Perimeter office has landed its first tenant after spending millions on improvements. The 1982 building was part of the older building stock competing with newer options in the area and elsewhere in Atlanta. The renovations to the building were made in hopes of attracting new renters and it looks like they have succeeded. On its website, Ashford Perimeter stresses its role as "an ideal environment for firms to establish their footprint in Atlanta." (The Business Journals, Subscription)
- Like many cities around the country, Atlanta's Airbnb listings are raising questions about regulation and affordability. On Jun. 12, there were 4,300 Atlanta properties listed on the rental site, lining up with Atlanta's tourist centers as well as Buckhead's Lennox Square. Although lower than cities like Nashville or Austin, the number does raise concerns about the ability of locals to continue living in the increasingly gentrified city. (SaportaReport)
