Atlanta-based national mortgage organization adds Buckhead resident to team

PrivatePlus Mortgage, a division of National Bank of Commerce, has named Buckhead resident Richard Shelor a Mortgage Banker.

“Richard believes in creating lasting client relationships in order to best understand and therefore better serve client’s long-term needs beyond the initial mortgage,” says Michael O’Nan, Vice President & Mortgage Banker for PrivatePlus.

A University of Georgia graduate in Economics, Shelor has over nine years of experience in the mortgage/financial services industry as well as in residential and commercial real estate. He served as managing broker of a commercial development and sales firm from 2004 to 2011.

“I look at the big picture and enjoy discussing the factors that need to be a part of the strategy of each loan; I really work to make sure clients understand which financial approach ultimately works best for their unique situation,” Shelor says. “Lending will never be a one-size-fits-all service and therefore it can be complicated, so I strive to compare each available option in terms my clients can easily understand.”

An Atlanta native, he and his wife Leigh live in Buckhead with their two children, Shep and Sadie. He spent most of his summers in Destin, Florida, at a family home and considers the Florida Panhandle a second home.
