Council Approves Pension Reform

The Atlanta City Council on a 15-0 vote approved a major pension reform program, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Buckhead city council representatives played a major role in the pension reform effort, with proposals by District 8 Councilwoman Yolanda Adrean and District 9 Councilwoman Felicia Moore included in the final leglislation. Moore represents part of Buckhead

The approved bill also included an amendment by Buckhead Councilman Howard Shook, who represents District 7, to cap expenditures to protect the city in case of a future financial meltdown, the AJC said.
