ATLANTA (November 1, 2013) — Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia (CACGA), the organization responsible for supporting Children’s Advocacy Centers all over Georgia, is announcing the 19 Days of Activism campaign. This year’s theme centers on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography.
Beginning Nov. 1, CACGA will lead a media and event campaign with its 42 Children’s Advocacy Centers to highlight the impact – and community solutions – to this very pressing concern. The campaign culminates with our Seventh Annual World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse Conference on Nov. 21 at Kennesaw State University. Chong Kim, a survivor of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation, will be the keynote speaker.
To illuminate the struggle, survival and solutions surrounding child sexual exploitation, each of the 19 days is designated with a different element of this year’s campaign. We are asking community members to heed the call to action and to re-affirm their commitment to prevent child abuse. Stay connected with CACGA via social media so we may highlight any special events, speakers or visits that your organization has planned during the 19 days.

About Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia
Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia (CACGA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and growing a network of 42 Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) across Georgia. When children and their families arrive at a CAC, they find a team of caring professionals who are committed to helping children through the trauma of abuse. Last year, more than 12,000 children received services at a Georgia CAC. Children’s Advocacy Centers combine the wisdom and professional knowledge of law enforcement, DFCS, prosecution, and medical and mental health to ensure an effective response system is in place that is sensitive to the needs of children.
