Atlanta Officer Barely Escapes Injury in Crash
The incident happened Sunday along Ga. 400 at Lenox Road in Buckhead.

ATLANTA, GA β An Atlanta police officer barely escaped serious injury while working a crash scene on Georgia 400 and Lenox Road on Sunday.
Police say Officer McCall was assisting Officer Brown with an accident at the interchange when McCall requested for a HERO unit. Until the unit arrived, McCall used his vehicle with lights activated to block traffic for Brown.
As McCall exited his vehicle to assist Officer Brown, a blue Audi, driving at a high rate of speed in the far left lane, rear-ended a black Ford, causing the Ford to cross two lanes of traffic and strike McCallβs vehicle. McCall ran toward the right shoulder to prevent from being struck.

Police say the Audi's driver, Abraham Martinez, was intoxicated and taken to the city jail.
The Ford's driver was taken to Grady Hospital for observation. He is expected to recover with no injuries.
