UPDATE: Atlanta Police Arrest Student For Bringing Ammo to School

Booker T. Washington High School was in a soft lockdown while police swept the school for a weapon.

UPDATE (1:26 p.m.): A student at Atlanta’s Booker T. Washington High School has been arrested by police after they discovered the student brought ammunition on campus.

WSB-TV reports that school resource officers noticed students acting suspiciously, which prompted the search. Atlanta police K9 units were used to sweep the school for a weapon. No gun was found, but 16 rounds of ammunition for a weapon were recovered by police. The student who brought the ammunition to school is in police custody.

Nobody was harmed as a result of the incident.

ORIGINAL STORY (11:26 a.m.): An Atlanta high school is on lockdown and is being scoured by police after receiving reports that there was a weapon on campus.

According to WSB-TV, K9 units entered Booker T. Washington High School around 11 a.m. Wednesday looking for the weapon or weapons. The initial report came in around 10:30 a.m.
