Atlanta Police Seek Person of Interest in Weekend Homicide

The victim was shot in the face and later died at the hospital, police said.

Atlanta police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man they’d like to speak to regarding a homicide at a store over the weekend.

Spokesman Greg Lyon said that police responded to a person shot call at 812 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday and discovered a man shot in the face. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Police told WSB-TV Sunday that the victim was 25-year-old Martrell Gay of Atlanta. Investigators believe Gay was a customer at the West End Food Mart and Grocery at the time that he was shot.
