Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony To Perform Free Concert at Lassiter High School
The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS) will perform a free concert at Lassiter High School on Sunday, December 13.

ATLANTA β The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS), the premier honor wind ensemble for high school youth in the Atlanta metropolitan area, will perform a free concert on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at Lassiter High School in Marietta.
Under the direction of conductor and music director Scott Stewart, the AYWS will pay tribute to some of the landmark pieces of wind band literature and established composers who brought the possibilities of the wind ensemble to the worldβs attention. The afternoonβs concert will feature a variety of wind band classics, including Graingerβs In a Nutshell Suite, Reedβs Armenian Dances, David Maslankaβs Mother Earth, Vaughan Williamsβ Rhosymedre, and Gouldβs West Point Symphony.
While the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony prides itself on commissioning new works and performing music by living composers, this program reflects the ensembleβs commitment to also honoring the rich tradition of compositions for concert band and wind ensemble from centuries past.
