Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony To Perform Joint Concert with Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble

The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS) will perform a joint concert with the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Wind Ensemble on Oct. 12.

The Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS), under the direction of conductor and music director Scott Stewart, will perform a joint concert with the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Wind Ensemble on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. in Morgan Hall at the Bailey Performance Center. This performance will mark the opening of the AYWS’ 27th season.

The AYWS will perform the first half of the evening’s program, which will include John Williams’ For The President’s Own, Frank Ticheli’s Dancing on Water, Aaron Perrine’s Only Light, and John Estacio’s Frenergy. Following a brief intermission, the Kennesaw State University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of David Kehler, will take the stage for Arnold’s English Dances, John Mackey’s Aurora Awakes, and David Gillingham’s Vintage, featuring euphonium soloist Martin Cochran. Both ensembles will come together to perform Alfred Reed’s Alleluia Laudamus to conclude the concert.
