The Better Than Toys Affordable Gift Guide

What are you getting the grandkids or nieces and nephews this year? Look beyond the latest toy craze to these three affordable fun options.

It's hard to come up with that perfect gift for a child or relative that you don't see that often. Especially because it's hard to know their interests and age doesn't really help. Here are three awesome gifts for kids from toddlers through teens that even work well for those hard to please adults.

Memberships. Memberships are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive. If you can't afford a yearly membership, just purchase a set of tickets. The recipient can upgrade those tickets during the first visit to a full year membership. The High Museum of Art is has programs for toddlers, teens and adults.

The Georgia Aquarium has so much going on throughout the year, including holiday events. If the kids already have a membership, consider purchasing a behind the scenes experience like swimming with the whale sharks!

Callaway Gardens Getaway. Callaway Gardens isn't that far from Atlanta and the annual Fantasy in Lights is a fun way to spend the week after Christmas. But tickets to Callaway Gardens can also be used during one of their many seasonal summer activities like the aqua island. It's always nice to have something to look forward to later in the year.

Snow Mountain. The forecast always reads snow in Atlanta at Stone Mountain Park's, snow mountain. Little ones who have never seen snow before are especially excited to build snowmen, sled, and throw snowballs.
