2013 Atlanta Symphony Decorators’ Show House & Gardens begins today!

Set on a Buckhead estate, the 2013 Atlanta Symphony Decorators’ Show House & Gardens is a grand chateau inspired by the great architecture of France. The house is considered to be one of William T. Baker’s finest works and is a testament to the fine craftsmanship and tasteful detailing characteristic of Baker’s architecture. The house is entirely clad in French limestone and, with its slate roof and zinc dormers, is a faithful interpretation of the great houses found outside Paris. The exciting interiors incorporate architectural antiques such as leaded windows, French paneling, and marble mantles. The wood parquet floors and casement windows with their decorative cremone bolts complete the effect. With over 18,000 square feet of space, the house will come to life as we showcase the interiors with some of the Southeast’s most talented designers. The house is open to the public from April 20–May 12, 2013 and tickets cost $25 at Ticket Tent. Visiting hours are:

Tuesday–Wednesday 10am–3:30pm
Thursday 10am–7:30pm
Friday–Saturday 10am–3:30pm
Sunday 12pm-4:30pm
Monday Closed

There is no parking available at the House. Complimentary parking and shuttle service for the house are provided at 3284 Northside Parkway. The address to the venue is Tuffeau, 3495 Old Plantation Road, Atlanta, GA 30327

And the website provides the following house rules - no children under the age of eight are allowed at the Show House, no photography, backpacks, strollers or bulky shoulder bags are permitted and flat shoes are advised to fully explore all three floors of the hourse as well as the lawn area all around.
