NASA astronaut and Lovett alum Shane Kimbrough ’85 spent the day at The Lovett School on April 17. He was here to discuss a new national NASA program called Destination Station, which educates the community about space science research and activities performed on the International Space Station. Kimbrough had a lunch and learn session with Lower School students, spoke in Middle School assembly, and met with Upper School physics classes.
While Kimbrough’s discussions addressed space science and technology, human exploration in space, and the International Space Station, his over-arching message to all students was to study hard, dream big, and pursue their aspirations.
Kimbrough is based at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
