{Seasonal Transition} Style Files
We are swiftly approaching fall, but here in Atlanta, the temperature will top 80 degrees for two more months. What does that do to a girl's wardrobe? We need fall looks that work in summer temps!
Can you believe in a few short weeks we’ll all be trying to figure out what to wear to football games? That’s right, we are swiftly approaching fall, but here in Atlanta, the temperature will top 80 degrees for two more months. What does that do to a girl’s wardrobe? We need fall looks that work in summer temps!
We began our quest for transition style at Tootsie’s where Julie and Stephen pointed out white denim is a year-round staple. White was all over the New York runways for fall, from J. Mendel to Peter Som. We paired these white Mother Jeans with a silk, sleeveless, Haute Hippie halter in matte gold. This ensemble is perfect for the sweltering heat of early fall in Georgia. To prepare for temperature drops, we added a lightweight L’Agence blazer in winter white.
Next we headed to Pella to find shoes to carry us through this seasonal transition. We found a selection of Dolce Vita suede wedges that are perfect. The texture of the suede is ideal for fall, and the open toe lets you show off that pedicure while the weather is still warm.
We made one last stop at fab’rik and personal stylist Frederick helped us find this teal pleated maxi dress. During these final hot weeks we will wear it with a grey spaghetti tank. Then, for an affordable fall transition, we’ll layer on a cream blazer with tails, taupe booties and a lightweight scarf.
Our secret to staying fashionable this fall is to pick lightweight pieces that can be layered, and pair them with a year-round staple. We’d love to hear your transition strategies (and what you’re planning for the season opener)!
