Nice weather (finally) marked the beginning of the game with a base on balls by King and single by Will Johnson, but a couple of pop ups ended a promising start. King looked strong on the hill striking out the first of many and picking off another. A fly ball to Will Johnson ended the Wolverines 1st.

Church was hit by pitch and scored on Devin Walden’s triple to make it 1-0 in the second. King struck out the side.
In the top of the third, King walked again and Johnson singled, but a double play turned by the Wolverines crushed any hope of breaking it open. King struck out two more and induced a fly ball to Johnson.
Toye singled, Jake Johnston was hit by pitch and Walden walked, but the defense of the Wolverines stiffened in the top of the 4th. Church caught a fly ball and King struck out 2 more, but not before Miller Grove was able to tie it up 1 to 1.
Harrison McClure reached on an error and crossed the plate on a triple by Jackson Echols to make it 2 to 1. King struck out the first Wolverine. McClure got the second with a strong throw from SS/shallow LF. Walden got the third on a fly ball to LF, but not before the scrappy Wolverines tied it up again 2 to 2.
In the top of the 6th the Warriors could not capitalize on Church’s single. King continued to be dominant striking out the side once again.
The Warriors went up 3 to 2 after singles by Johnson, Echols and Toye in the top of the 7th. In what seemed like the last chance for the Wolverines, McClure caught a popup for the first out and Church caught a popup in RF. Coach intentionally walked a couple of wolverines to set up the force at any base. King threw a groundball, but we couldn’t quite execute the play and they tied it up 3 to 3.
North Atlanta could get nothing in the top of the eight. King did it all in the bottom of the frame striking out two more Wolverines and fielding a come backer and making the throw to 1B. At the end of 8, score 3 to 3.
The umpires called the game for darkness. We hope to report on the rest of this matchup at a later date.
