Warriors mercy rule Pace Knights 12 to 2 in 6 innings.

Warriors mercy rule Pace Knights 12 to 2 in 6 innings.

Jackson Echols blasts 4th homerun in 3 games. Pitching by committee (King, Hedrick and Toye) was sharp.

Wells King led off the first with a single and stole 2B. Will Johnson smashed a double, scoring King. Sacrifice fly by Echols scored Johnson to put the Warriors up 2-0. With King on the mound, the Knights were dispensed in straightforward fashion with a groundball to Brandon Ector at 2B, line out to Harrison McClure at SS and a ground out to Jake Johnston at 3B.

The Warriors picked up another couple of runs in the top of the second frame. Campbell Toye reached on a bad throw, Ector flared a ball to shallow RF and King singled. King was sharp striking out 2 and Will Johnson picked off one to end the inning.

Nothing doing for the Warriors in the top of the third. King recorded another strikeout and induced groundballs to Ector and McClure. The Knights were able to get on the scoreboard with one run to make it 4 to 1.

Johnston doubled in the 4th, but we could not capitalize. Austin Hedrick came in relief. King made 2 nice plays at 2B and Hedrick struck out one.

The Warriors really got the bats going in the 5th. Johnson singled, followed by 2 run homer for McClure. Echols singled, Livaditis singled and Johnston doubled to make it 9 to 1. Hedrick and King continued in the 5th what they started in the 4th. Another ground out to King and 2 more strike outs for Hedrick.

The bats again were hot with a single for King, single for McClure and monster homerun for Echols (my estimate 405 ft.) to make it 12 to 1. Toye relieved Hedrick and struck out two and induced a fly ball to Echols to end it. Final 12 to 2 in six innings.
