Pregame festivities were highlighted by a wonderful performance of the National Anthem by Lela Johnston. (No lip syncing for our Warrior fans.)

The Knights came out swinging and put two on the board quickly in the first, but good plays by Wells King (2B), Harrison McClure (SS) and Jake Johnston (3B) kept things from getting out of hand. King walked to lead off the inning and Will Johnson singled to move him into scoring position. King scored on a single by John Livaditis.
Austin Hedrick settled down and pitched well in the second with a strike out and two ground balls that McClure handled easily in the second. Matthew Church made a nice catch to highlight the top of the third as did Will Johnson in the 4th.
King made an athletic play to get a Knight at 1B. The Warriors could get nothing going offensively in the middle innings.
Hedrick continued to roll over the Knights with another K in the top of the inning and the defense raised up to snuff out any hopes of the Knights. Walks by Johnston and McClure both led to runs when Livaditis doubled off the fence and gave the Warriors the lead 3 to 2.
King caught a tough fly ball in shallow RF for the first out of the sixth. Hedrick helped his own cause fielding a slow roller and tossing to Jackson Echols at 1B. A couple of Knights reached and scored to take back the lead and Hedrick was done for the day. King came in in relief and struck out the last batter to end any threat.
Johnston had a terrific at bat to start a rally in the bottom of the sixth with a single to left. Echols then doubled off the fence. King sacrificed and scored Johnston to tie it up. Johnson doubled and scored Echols from 2B. McClure then doubled to score Johnson to make it 6 to 4.
The Knights came up in the top of the 7th with one more chance, however, King was too much for them striking out the side and bringing our overall record to 3 and 1.
