Austin Hedrick started on this very cold night inducing ground balls to Wells King at 2B and Jake Johnston at 3B and a weak liner to Campbell Toye at 1B, making quick work of the Vikings. Good pitching shut down the Warriors in the bottom of the inning.

Hedrick K’d one and picked off two in the second. Again the Warriors could get nothing started in the bottom of the frame.

In the top of the 3rd, Walden made the first of several tough catches on the evening. The Vikings sacrificed for the second out with Hedrick making a nice play on a well placed bunt. Johnston made the third putout on a ground ball to 3B. Matthew Church came out swinging with a single to lead off. Ector laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Church to 2B. King walked and both runners advanced. Johnson bunted successfully scoring Church. Harrison McClure singled to score King and Jackson Echols likewise singled, making it 3 to 0.

Hedrick was still pitching well into the 4th and got two Viking batters to fly out to Church and Toye. The last Lakeside batter K’d looking. Once again, the excellent pitching shut down the Warrior offense.

In the top of the 5th, Walden made two excellent catches in LF and Hedrick helped himself with a putout to 1B, but not before the Vikings were able to score to make it 3 to 1. King led off with a single and Johnson sacrificed to move him to 2B. King was caught stealing, stalling the Warrior offense.

Walden made another nice catch in LF, McClure made an excellent play at SS and Toye made a nice pick at 1B for the second out of the inning.  Hedrick was done and McClure came on in relief. The Vikings were able to tie it up 3 to 3 with a double down the LF line just inches into fair territory. Once again the Warriors were stymied in the bottom of the frame by the tough Viking thrower.

McClure was dominant striking out the side in the top of the 7th. Ector walked to leadoff and King moved him to 2B. Johnson got ahead in the count 3 balls and no strikes. Anticipating a fastball, coach gave him the green light and Johnson crushed a double to the fence scoring Ector easily from 2B and winning the game 4 to 3.
