Whitewater Scotties

The Buckhead Scotties spend the weekend in Charlotte, N.C. and visit the U.S. National Whitewater Center.

This week, the Buckhead Scotties took a mini-vacation in Charlotte, N.C. The weather was perfect on Saturday and we set out to the U.S. National Whitewater Center - a place said to be fun for both people and their canine companions, and we all know the Buckhead Scotties are always up for a little adventure!

As per usual, Mr. K went nuts when he saw the abundance of water. I'm convinced he would have happily gone whitewater rafting if we would have let him (and if that were allowed!). I don't know what it is about water that makes him go so crazy. For those of you not too familiar with the Scottish Terrier breed, Scotties aren't known for their fantastic swimming skills. In fact, they tend to be very poor swimmers. Heather hates water all together but Mr. K is seemingly more and more attracted to it, especially since the time he dove into a pool earlier this summer.

And so, Heather and Mr. K spent the afternoon trotting around the U.S. National Whitewater Center exploring and got to experience their first outdoor cafe dining experience there with Scottie Mom and the rest of the family. The cafe even had a water station for the pups that Mr. K tipped over and consequently flooded the patio in his failed attempt to elevate himself high enough to take a sip from it!

Without a doubt, the Buckhead Scotties enjoyed their brief weekend outside Atlanta but I think it is safe to say they are glad to be back! To see more photos from their excursion, visit www.scottiemom.com. Until next time, much love and two tails-a-wagging!
