Brandon Neighborhood Association Formed,with Eric Ranney as President

Organization to represent community near Morris Brandon Elementary

The Brandon Neighborhood Association was organized recently to serve a community of more than 300 homes near .

Thenonprofit organization is "dedicated to protecting, preserving and enhancing the Brandon Neighborhood as a desirable, high quality residential area," accoridng to an announcement.

Eric Ranney, former chairman of NPU-C, is the president of the new neighborhood association. Within the neighborhood's area portions of Moores Mill Road, Howell Mill Road, West Wesley Road, Peachtree Battle Avenue, Peachtree Battle Circle, Arden Road, Battle Overlook, Carmon on Wesley, Harwick Drive, and Nawench Drive, the annoucement said.

β€œDiscussion regarding the launch of an association in the Brandon neighborhood has been in the works for several years now,” Ranney said in a statement. β€œWe were surrounded by areas that had associations and in many cases a security patrol, and this fall simply presented the right timing to proceed with our organizational efforts and formally kick off the Brandon Neighborhood Association.”

The announcement said the new association will become the 29th member of the Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods, which meetings at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at .

Other officers include Sarah Falgoust, vice president; Becky Brown, secretary; and Ashley Crosier, treasurer. Board members are Beth Beskin, Clay Bradley, Matt Calvert, Ric Felker, Lisa Haworth, Neal Heery, Whitney Paulowsky, Frank Strickland, Barbara Thomas, Woodie Williams and Lauren Winborne.


Annual memberships are $350. The organization said that while the fees will largely cover the implementation of the new Brandon Security Patrol, several social gatherings will be held throughout the year. The Brandon Security Patrol, led by Sgt. Barry Miller (Atlanta Police Department retired), is scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 21.
