Buckhead a Bastion for Bad Steakhouses?
Nation's Top Newspaper Thinks Buckhead is a Suburb

ATLANTA (Aug. 11, 2015) - If Washington Post national politics writer Dave Weigel hasn’t left Buckhead yet, he better do so soon. I hear Sam Massell, the former mayor of Atlanta and current king of Buckhead, is looking for him.
That’s because Weigel and colleague Robert Costa describe Buckhead - in their coverage of last weekend’s RedState Gathering - as “an Atlanta suburb dotted with pricey fashion stores and chain steakhouses often found on expense accounts.” Using this logic Weigel, who just rejoined The Post after bolting for Bloomberg for a while, must think that Georgetown is a suburb of Washington.

Clearly the journalist has no clue that Buckhead has long been inside Atlanta’s city limits or that its residents (of which I am one) account for 68 percent of the city’s revenue stream.
Weigel is pretty influential and is a journalistic stud on Twitter, with 162K followers.

Weigel also didn’t venture far from the InterContinental, which hosted the gathering. His assessment of Buckhead’s steakhouse seen is way off base. He must have looked north on Peachtree street and seen Morton’s and then south and seen Ruth’s Chris. If he had done some homework, he would have taken Uber to Bone’s or Chop’s and put it on Jeff Bezos’ expense account.
So, when Sam Massell reads the article and finds Weigel, I hope he invites him for a steak and Bone’s and then for some shopping at the aptly named Buckhead Atlanta.
