Buckhead Business Association to honor local businesses during Annual Luncheon

The Buckhead Business Association (BBA) during its Annual Luncheon this month will honor local businesses and entrepreneurs for their commitment to reshaping the Buckhead community.

The Annual Luncheon, held at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 22 at the JW Marriott in Buckhead, is widely attended by business and civic leaders. During the luncheon, the organization will hand out a number of honors, including the Buckhead Business of the Year Award.

This year’s honorees include:

• Bullish on Buckhead: David Cummings, founder of the Atlanta Tech Village, which transformed an office building at the intersection of Piedmont and Lenox roads into a collaborative center for innovation
• Buckhead Beautification: Buckhead Atlanta, which revitalized a roughly eight-acre plot of land along Peachtree Street in the heart of Buckhead into an upscale shopping and dining destination
• Entrepreneur of the Year: Jenny Levison, owner of Souper Jenny, whose culinary business is expanding throughout the city

Finalists for this year’s Buckhead Business of the Year Award are Bhojanic, an Indian restaurant; Flywheel Sports, an indoor cycling studio; Legoland Discovery Center; Morgan Kylee, a fashion boutique; and Onward Reserve, an apparel and accessories store.

“This past year was a harbinger of future successes for businesses and entrepreneurs in Buckhead,” said Smita Solanki, executive director of the BBA. “We look forward to celebrating these successes and turning our eye toward the future.”

Spanx CEO Jan Singer will deliver the keynote address during the luncheon. Tickets for the Annual Luncheon start at $85 for members and $110 for nonmembers until Jan. 12 and $95 for members and $120 for nonmembers after Jan. 12.
