Buckhead CID Commission Study of Phipps Boulevard, Peachtree Road Traffic

The study could recommend a wide range of changes meant to improve traffic flow in the area.

Buckhead motorists who regularly curse the traffic on roads which feed into Phipps Boulevard and Peachtree Road may soon get some relief from the gridlock, BuckheadView says.

The Buckhead Community Improvement District (CID) has commissioned a study to examine the traffic problems at the intersections of Wieuca Road and Phipps Boulevard, Wieuca and Longleaf roads, Phipp Boulevard and Longleaf Road, Old Ivy and Wiecuca roads, Phipps Boulevard and Alexander Road, and Phipps Boulevard and Lenox Road.

North Buckhead Civic Association President Gordon Certain told BuckheadView that the study will try to find answers to problems such as installing and synchronizing traffic signals, the dangerous northbound lane of Wieuca Road, and the odd intersection of Phipps Boulevard, Wieuca Road, and Park Avenue near Phipps Plaza.

Certain said that the study could not come at a better time considering the planned construction of nearly 1,000 new residential units in the area such as the Domain at Phipps Plaza project.
