Buckhead Coalition to Aid Police Officers Live in Community

Funds will also support monitoring of surveillance cameras

The Buckhead Coalition will participate in a program to provide funds for Atlanta police officers to live in Buckhead.

The coalition will also join forces with the Buckhead Community Improvement District and the Atlanta Police Foundation in an effort to have private surveillance cameras linked to the Atlanta Police Department's video monitoring system. The CID and the Police Foundation are also partners in the police residency program.

"The residency program makes $3,000 available to each uniformed officer who moves into Buckhead, in addition to whatever rent concessions can be negotiated," according to a news release from the Buckhead Coalition.

The CID will cover the area within its boundaries, and the coalition will be responsible for the balance of the 28 square miles of official Buckhead. The coalition is earmarking $40,000 for the first stage of these new public safety programs.Β
