Buckhead Crime Rate Down Slightly Last Week
Less than one hundred serious offenses were reported to police during the week of July 13-19.
The Atlanta Police Department’s weekly crime reports for Buckhead show a slight drop in offenses between last week and two weeks ago.
According to the figures for Zone 2, which covers Buckhead, the number of Part I Offenses such as murder, rape, robbery, assault, and auto theft, dropped from 103 between July 6-12 to 91 between July 13-19. This represents a 11.65 percent drop.

-No murders or rapes were reported in Zone 2 during either week in question.
-The number of robberies declined from 6 to 5 from July 6-12 to July 13-19.
-Burglaries decreased from 14 between July 6-12 to 9 between July 13-19.
-Larcenies from automobiles decreased from 42 to 36 during the same period.
-Six firearm crimes were reported in both weeks.
-Eight stolen cars were recovered between July 13-19. Four were recovered during the previous week.
-1,064 traffic violations were reported between July 13-19. The previous week, the total was 1,181.
-11 Part One arrests were made between July 13-19. 24 Part One arrests were made between July 6-12.
-68 arrests of all kinds were made between July 13-19. 72 arrests of all kinds were made between July 6-12.
In the previous 28 days from July 19, Zone 2 reported no murders, two rapes, 19 robberies, and 40 automobile thefts. There were also 164 reported car break-ins and 128 larcenies from other locations. Overall, 408 Part One crimes were reported during the period, compared to 416 during the same period last year. This represents a two percent decline.
