The #DontJudgeChallenge is an attempt to make people feel comfortable with their own bodies in today's beauty-obsessed culture.

A hair stylist at a Buckhead salon has been given new confidence as a result of a social media campaign where participants broadcast their flaws to the world.

For seven years, Felicia Flores has had alopecia, an autoimmune disorder which prevents her growing hair on her head. Flores told FOX 5 Atlanta that she felt ashamed of her condition and ‘religiously’ wore a wig to keep her secret safe.

That all changed, however, when her daughter and a friend showed her videos posted online by men and women participating in the #DontJudgeChallenge. The gist of the challenge is to record yourself without any makeup or artificial beauty, showing your true face to the world. The campaign is meant to curb the huge incidence of body shaming, especially in online circles.

Inspired by the courage of the other participants, Flores accepted the challenge on July 17 and doffed her wig for a video. Wig-less, Flores says she feels free and buoyed by the support she received from friends and total strangers alike in the wake of her video.
