Buckhead Resident Named to Insurance Advisory Committee
State commissioner selects Habersham Funding president for board

Buckhead resident M. Bryan Freeman, president and managing member of Atlanta-based Habersham Funding LLC, has been named to the stateΒ Life, Annuity, and Long Term Care Insurance Advisory Committee, according to a news release.
Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph T. Hudgens named Freeman to the board.Β Freeman is internationally recognized for his efforts in developing the secondary market for life insurance, according to the news release. He has worked both on the state level β in Georgia and elsewhere β and on the federal level" to develop responsible regulation," the announcement said.

Freeman served four terms as board president of the Life Insurance Settlement Association. He remains on the LISA board as chairman of the External Affairs Committee which advises the board and executive director regarding goals, strategy and activities affecting legislation, regulation, political, legal and public relations programs.
Freeman has been a licensed life agent for 32 years and has worked in the secondary market for life insurance since 1989 β the year it entered the mainstream.

Buckhead-based Habersham Funding, which does business nationally, provides the funds for life settlements and viatical settlements, which enable seniors who no longer want or need their life insurance to receive an advance cash payment for their policy. The viatical settlement option also is available to some people who are terminally ill.
