Building Our Largest Dementia Infrastructure for Alzheimer's

Request for Congress to Pass BOLD

Alzheimer’s Disease is a Public Health issue. It affects 5 million Americans and is the most expensive disease in America with costs exceeding a quarter of a trillion dollars per year. The number of people living with Alzheimer’s is projected to triple to as many as 16 million in 2050, and the costs are expected to rise to $1.1 trillion.
My parents suffered from Alzheimer’s for a total of 18 years before their deaths. I know first hand the complications that can arise while caring for those with Alzheimer’s. With proper care, many of these can be mitigated.
Congress has a chance to take decisive action passing the Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act (H.R. 4256). Endorsed by the Alzheimer’s Association, the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act would create an Alzheimer’s public health infrastructure across the country to implement effective Alzheimer's interventions including increasing early detection and diagnosis, reducing risk, and preventing avoidable hospitalizations.
Join me in thanking Congressman Barry Loudermilk for his support in increasing research funding and asking Congressman Loudermilk to sign on to BOLD along with nine other members of Congress in Georgia.
