Caterpillar Foundation To Fight Hunger With Food Bank

Grant To Fund Mobile Food Pantries in Fulton, Spalding Counties

Atlanta, GA (November 6, 2017) The Atlanta Community Food Bank has announced a $54,573 grant from the Caterpillar Foundation to host food distributions in Fulton and Spalding counties. A member of the Feeding America network, the Atlanta Community Food Bank is one of 30 food banks selected to receive this grant.

"We are thankful to the Caterpillar Foundation for its commitment to fighting hunger and supporting families in need in our community,” said Chaundra Luckett, Public Relations Manager at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. "Because of this grant, we will be able to better serve families and children in need.”

According to research from Feeding America, one in every four children in Georgia lives in food insecure households meaning they don’t know where their next meal will come from. Through this grant, the Food Bank will be able to provide stability with free food distributions open to the public.
