CeeLo Green To Headline Christmas Tree Lighting

Macy's 70th Annual Great Tree Lighting on Sunday at Lenox Square Mall will feature musical performers and fireworks.

ATLANTA, GA β€” Thousands are expected to come to Lenox Square Mall on Sunday for Macy’s 70th Annual Great Tree Lighting, an Atlanta tradition. This year's celebration will feature live performances by Grammy award-winning singer CeeLo Green, country music singer RaeLynn, Atlanta native and β€œAmerica’s Got Talent” runner-up Angelica Hale, and contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns.

Again this year, Macy’s will light an eco-friendly, reusable tree that stands 56 feet tall. The tree is adorned with 45,000 sparkling LED lights that span more than eight miles draped around the tree, the department store says.

The pre-show entertainment will begin at 6:30 p.m. with performances and behind-the-scenes interviews by the evening’s entertainers, according to a Macy's store announcement. The event will conclude with fireworks set to holiday music. The Great Tree will be lit from Sunday through New Year's Day.

For the last decade, young patients of the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta have served as the honorary tree-lighters. Helping to flip the switch of the Macy’s Great Tree this year are two patients: seven-year-old Tripp Lasseter and Ava Leslie, 8.

Lenox Square Mall is at 3393 Peachtree Road NE in Buckhead. Limited parking will be available, and using MARTA is encouraged. For more information, please click here.
