The owners of a Buckhead shopping mall undergoing an extensive renovation are asking local philanthropic organizations to enter a drawing to win the chandelier which graced the mall’s ceiling for over 20 years.

Phipps Plaza wants to give the 10-by-12-foot bronze chandelier to a nonprofit which can either display the fixture at their headquarters or could use the chandelier in their next fundraising campaign, according to a release.

The chandelier has hung inside the elegant Court of the South since 1992, but it was removed on Dec. 6 as part of a large-scale renovation of the mall property. According to the release, a state of the art LED chandelier will soon grace the Court of the South, and mall patrons will soon enjoy new interior colors, lounges with WiFi, upgraded restroom facilities, and parking improvements.

Local 501(c)3 organizations which wish to take possession of the old chandelier should send a packet containing the organization’s background information, contact information, and a letter explaining why the organization wants the chandelier to Leslie Bland by Feb. 28, the release said.
