Cheever’s Stories Come to Life in Pace Academy Production

Pace Academy’s Upper School theatre department presented “A Cheever Evening” Feb. 1 and 2 in the school’s Fine Arts Center.

The play by A. R. Gurney is based on author John Cheever’s most funny and moving stories. They chronicle the post-war angst and alienation of America’s burgeoning suburban class, painting a portrait of a culture that, while teetering on the brink of extinction, combats loss with humor, wit and feeling.

Pace Academy Upper School Theatre Director George Mengert and Director of Communications Caitlin Jones co-directed the production, which featured a talented cast of 18 students, many of whom played multiple roles.
