Rev. Dr. Hill will minister to the church while the selection committee seeks a permanent pastor to replace Rev. Dr. Ernie Hess.

Covenant Presbyterian Church in Buckhead has welcomed Reverend Dr. Richard Hill as Interim Pastor. Rev. Hill will minister to the church while the selection committee seeks a permanent pastor to replace Rev. Dr. Ernie Hess, who was called to a church in California. Dr. Hill is an experienced interim pastor, having served in this special capacity for a number of churches during the past decade, using his leadership training to help congregations through transitional times and position them to identify and call a new permanent leader. www.covenantpresbyterian.us
“An interim time in a church is not a time to relax or maintain the status quo,” says Rev. Hill. “Instead, this period offers churches a chance to renew the energy and vitality in worship, to assess and to build the runway for the future.”
Rev. Hill was ordained as a Presbyterian (USA) minister in 1987 and has served at several Atlanta-area churches. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Emory University with a BA in Psychology and from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur with a Masters Degree in Divinity. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Bakke Graduate University in Seattle, Wash. His wife, Penny, is also a Presbyterian minister. The couple has two grown sons who live in Atlanta.
