Covenant Presbyterian Church's Fall Worship and Education

The Buckhead church offers a number of opportunities this fall for adults and youth to worship, learn and enjoy fellowship.

Covenant Presbyterian Church is kicking off its fall programming with opportunities for adults and youth to worship, learn and enjoy fellowship. All are invited to Sunday worship at 11 a.m. each week at the historic Buckhead church. Sunday School for adults, teens and children takes place prior to worship at 9:30 a.m. This fall, adults will explore a number of topics and themes including “Thinking About Religion and Violence” (led by Dr. Will Simson), “Scientists who are Christian” (led by Dr. Carson Meredith) and “Contemplative Art During Advent” (led by Rev. Marthame Sanders), and more. Fifth through eighth graders will delve into the Beatitudes, the Lord’s Prayer, Advent and Mary’s Song, while the young children will enjoy weekly Bible stories and learning through play.

Throughout the school year, Covenant’s Youth Group (fifth grade through high school) will meet at the church for lunch and fellowship following Sunday worship from noon – 2 p.m., teaming up monthly with youth from Druid Hills Presbyterian Church for special programs. On Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m., Covenant’s Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Richard Hill will lead a men’s Bible study, while Associate Pastor Rev. Katie Owen Aumann oversees programs for young adults as well as a women’s spiritual group. The church sponsors mission trips, music concerts, and numerous charitable activities. A more complete listing of offerings can be found at www.covpresatl.org.

“This is a church for anyone looking for a community that feels like extended family,” said Rev. Hill. “We strive to warmly welcome anyone who comes through our doors – anyone. Our worship is traditional and vibrant with a focus on inspiring preaching and choral music. Our congregation values diversity, encourages questions and believes faith is best expressed through action: serving and seeking justice for those who are most vulnerable.”
