Dinos, Super Heroes and More: What’s New at Atlanta Theme Parks

Summer is almost here and the Atlanta area theme parks ready with some exciting new rides that include dinosaurs, super heroes and more!

Atlanta area theme parks are ready for summer with some new attractions you won't want to miss. Here is what you can expect.

Drop of Doom. Earlier this year, Six Flags Over Georgia added virtual reality to it’s Acrophobia ride, reinventing it as the Drop of Doom. From the moment you sit in the seat, you are immersed into a video game where you shoot giant spiders. Then when you least expect it, there is the actual 100 story drop! Go quickly to see this version of the ride. It is being retired on May 21.

Justice League - Battle for Metropolis. This is a dark ride, similar to Buzz Lightyear at Walt Disney World, but with a lot more action. It has one of the world’s first virtual vertical loops.

For a Georgia amusement park that is more retro, try Lake Winnie on the Georgia border near Chattanooga. They have vintage rides, and a water park that is lots of fun and easy to navigate, plus free parking just outside the gates.

If you are traveling south of Atlanta, Ohana Bay is the new water park at Wild Adventure near Valdosta. There are seven water coaster slides with tropical names like Alani Falls, Polu Plunge and Oma Oma O Racers.
