Identity of Driver Killed in Buckhead Released (Update)

One person died early Monday morning when a tree fell on a car in Buckhead.

The incident happened on the 3400 block of Woodhaven Road in Buckhead before 6 a.m., according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Fire department personnel told the AJC that the man was driving an SUV when it collided with a 50 to 60 foot tall tree that was lying across the road behind the Governor’s Mansion.

The victim has been identified as Marion Webb, 81, of Decatur, the AJC says.

Trees have fallen in several areas as heavy rains continued into Monday morning, according to 11Alive.
