Join Park Ranger Jerry Hightower for a walk through a beautiful hardwood forest amidst native ferns, flowering shrubs, and wildflowers. Learn about Native American and Colonial uses of some of the wonderful native plants. Imagine this area as farm fields instead of forest as you walk along the traces of nineteenth century farm roads. Look for paw prints of the many species of wildlife that thrive here and perhaps see a salamander or two from the tiny tributaries.
This hike is moderate with a bit of off trail meandering included.
