Time Travel Through Art Portfolio Preparation

For kids in grades 9-12.  In this class, students will learn about different artists and art movements throughout history. Students will create projects based around these artists and art movements, such as Alexander Calder’s mobiles, Georges Seurat’s pointillist paintings, M.C. Esher’s tessellations, and more! Every two weeks students will create a new project to bring home and will learn about the events in history that influenced these artists.  These projects can be used to contribute to a well-rounded portfolio for applications to summer and college programs.  In addition, students will learn about post-high school art options.
