Feared Grenade May Be A Paperweight: ATL Police
Several Buckhead businesses were evacuated on Monday after the grenade-like item was discovered in a rental car.

ATLANTA, GA β An item believed to be a grenade that caused several Buckhead businesses to be evacuated on Monday turned out to be a "novelty item," according to Atlanta Police.
The item that looked like a grenade was found inside a rental car Monday at 3230 Peachtree Rd. Atlanta's SWAT team has concluded its analysis, a police spokesman said Wednesday, and the device "is not explosive and appears to be a novelty item, possibly a paperweight."
No criminal charges are anticipated in the case, according to police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty. The item was reported at a Hertz Rent A Car facility.
