Filmmaker Gayla Jamison to Speak at Covenant Presbyterian Church Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Gayla Jamison of Lightfoot Films will present "Lives for Sale", a film that explores sex trafficking of undocumented immigrants to the U.S.

Covenant Presbyterian Church (www.covenantpresbyterian.us) will present the third and final free program of its 2015 Mitchell Speaker Series, β€œCaring for Our City”, Thursday, Nov. 19, in the church’s Fellowship Hall from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Gayla Jamison, producer, director and writer with Lightfoot Films, will show her documentary film, Lives For Sale, which chronicles sex trafficking of undocumented immigrants to the U.S., and lead a discussion on the issue of sex trafficking in Atlanta. The evening is funded by the Mitchell Women’s Christian Education Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church and includes a complimentary coffee and dessert reception. Attendees may park for free on the top deck of the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center parking lot, immediately south of the church, located at 2461 Peachtree Road in Buckhead.

During her career, Jamison has produced numerous long and short-form documentaries which have aired on ABC, NBC, PBS, TBS, The Learning Channel, and many film festivals. Her films focus on grassroots struggles against injustice and peaceful solutions to conflict. www.lightfootfilms.org.
