Here are the top three stories today in Buckhead:
- Firefighters were called back to Buckhead Saloon multiple times overnight to fight hot spots that repeatedly returned some 18 hours after the fire was first reported. An eyewitness stated that windows began to pop out and smoke started to billow from the roof as the fire consumed the building. (Free: 11Alive)
- Camden Development proposed a 12-story apartment building at 55 East Andrews as part of the third phase of its West Village redevelopment. Camden, which is based in Florida, filed a plan last month which called for some 341 apartments and 490 parking spaces in a two-level garage beneath the apartment complex. Advertised rent prices for the complex start at $2,400 per month at Camden Buckhead and north of $2,000 at Camden Paces. (Free: Buckhead.com)
- North Atlanta High School American literature teacher Chad Langley and his emotional support pup Edgar, a miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix, were recently featured in a piece in the school's publication. - The Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods will meet on October 13 at 6:45 PM at the Piedmont Center Auditorium at Building 14, 3535 Piedmont Road, NE.
