UPDATE: Costume Jewelry Prompted City Hall Evacuation, Police Say
Police say that the two suspicious package incidents reported downtown Thursday were not related.

Atlanta police say that the suspicious package which cleared out Atlanta City Hall on Thursday afternoon contained nothing but costume jewelry, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says.
WSB-TV reported at 3:16 p.m. that Atlanta City Hall employees who were evacuated from the building due to the suspicious package call were making their way back inside the building.
Jason Durden, flying above the scene in a news helicopter, tweeted that “suspicious package activity is wrapping up,” following a series of scares in the area on Thursday afternoon.

Atlanta police spokesperson Greg Lyon told Patch that two suspicious packages were reported-one inside the Clerk’s Office at the Fulton County Courthouse and a second at 66 Mitchell St. Homeland Security and SWAT units were dispatched to the scene, Lyon said.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reported an all clear at the courthouse just after 2 p.m.; it is not clear if that all clear has been cancelled.
