Generous Gwinnett Clerk Amazes Shopper
One Snellville Walgreen's clerk changed the course of a day for a surprised shopper with a special gift.

On an ordinary day in late April, Snellville native Kathy Taber walked into her neighborhood Walgreens on Centerville Highway. She was on a mission: To buy as many sale items as she could. Her purpose? Stuff those sale items into shoe box gifts destined for needy children around the world.
Taber is a year round, local volunteer with nonprofit Operation Christmas Child. This organization collects shoe box gifts and then distributes those gifts around the world at Christmastime to children who are suffering from poverty, war, disease and famine.
As Taber rolled up to the register to pay, the clerk, Sean Olusa, was intrigued by Taber’s pile of what seemed like an outrageous number of school supplies, hygiene items, hard candy and other items that had been on sale. Taber passionately explained the mission and vision of Operation Christmas Child to a hooked Olusa.

After receiving the payment for Taber’s $79-dollar purchase, Olusa asked Taber to wait at the front of the store. He mysteriously disappeared, only to join her a few moments later. In his hands were $100 of his own hard-earned money.
“I want to help with the shoeboxes, too,” he said, handing Taber the cash.

Overwhelmed by Osula’s generosity and spirit of compassion for the children his money would go to help, Taber took to social media to commend him. By the end of the day, fellow volunteers in the Atlanta area knew about Osula’s act of kindness. Moreover, Walgreens has plans in the works to honor its Snellville clerk.
Neither Taber or Osula planned for this to happen. But because of this divine coincidence, children overseas who desperately need encouragement will get it.

You can pack shoebox gifts year round and drop them off at Snellville First Baptist Church, as well as many other locations in the metro-Atlanta area during the third week of November.
