About Georgia Law Center for the Homeless

The Georgia Law Center for the Homeless (GLCH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was founded in 1983 by a few concerned attorneys to specifically address the civil legal needs of Atlanta’s homeless population. This includes women in domestic violence shelters, homeless veterans, and working homeless families who are unable to escape homelessness because of legal issues such as failure to receive child support, unpaid wages, improperly denied disability claims, and other civil legal matters. The Law Center mission is to provide free, quality civil litigation oriented legal services to homeless individuals and their families to remove barriers to stability and long-term housing. We are different because we are the only pro-bono legal agency specifically for the homeless, and our model relies upon representing our clients directly in court (and not just giving advice) to achieve stellar results.
