Georgia Man Lives With Dead Mom, Uses Her Money

WAYCROSS, GA - -A man who once ran for mayor of Waycross, GA, was arrested Monday after police discovered he was living with his dead mother’s body while spending her money.

Rodney Harold Dillon is accused of concealing the death of another, reports the Waycross Journal Herald. Police say Dillon was living in his dead mother’s home, along with her corpse, while spending money from her bank account.

Police became suspicious after they received information last week about a missing person. Detectives then began discovering some inconsistencies in reports that she was living in Florida at a health care facility. They then got permission to search the woman’s house, where they discovered Dillon and the woman’s body.

No word yet on how long Dillon’s mother had been dead.

Dillon ran for mayor of Waycross in 2003. Waycross is in south Georgia, and is a popular gateway into the Okeefenokee Swamp and National Wildlife Refuge.
