Goodwill Bringing New Store to Atlanta, Hiring Workers
The Buckhead location is set to open on Dec. 4, but not before hiring about 40 new workers.

Staff Report
Goodwill of North Georgia will begin recruiting workers to fill open positions at its new Atlanta location. The store, located at 2135 Piedmont Road, will include a donation center and is set open to customers on December 4. Opening a new facility also means creating new jobs where they previously did not exist.
“With each store we open, we create about 40 jobs. That’s 40 new opportunities to provide someone with a chance to earn a living,” says Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong.
The organization is hiring floor and production associates. Those interested should apply in person during the Goodwill Hiring Event on November 5 and 6 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Goodwill’s Northeast Plaza Career Center (3337 Buford Highway, Atlanta, Georgia 30329).
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, bring valid identification, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test. Interview attire is strongly recommended.
When the store opens, Goodwill expects shoppers to find it to be a great place for people looking to save money on clothes, books and other household items, and donors will enjoy the convenient drive-up donation center. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to help thousands of other North Georgians find work.
“Our mission is to put people to work. We do this through a variety of job training programs and employment services. We use the sale of donated goods to fund those activities. This year, our goal is to help 16,500 people find jobs,” Armstrong explains.
