Governor Declares State of Emergency; State Government Offices Will Close at Noon Wednesday
The preemptive declaration affects 50 counties, including Fulton.

Governor Nathan Deal has ordered a state of emergency for 50 counties which will begin on Wednesday afternoon in light of forecasts calling for up to four inches of snowfall in the metro Atlanta over the next two days.
According to the governor’s office, the state of emergency will officially begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with all county offices affected by the state of emergency ordered to be closed by noon. The early closings are meant to get as many motorists off the roads as possible before the snowfall begins.
“We have delayed the state of emergency until the time that we expect to see precipitation, but I’ve made all state resources available tonight for preparation,” Deal said in a statement.
