Imprisoned Rapper Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Assault

Gucci Mane attacked a photo-seeking fan in an Atlanta nightclub in 2013.

A rapper already serving time in federal prison on weapons charges has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault for a 2013 incident where he struck a man over the head with a vodka bottle in an Atlanta nightclub, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Radric Davis, better known as Gucci Mane, was at Harlem Nights on March 16, 2013, when he was approached by a U.S. Army staff sergeant who was on leave. The soldier wanted to get a picture with the rapper, but Gucci Mane struck him over the head with a vodka bottle instead. The soldier required ten stitches due to injuries sustained from the assault.

Gucci Mane pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in May and was sentenced to a 39 month federal prison stint in August. His three-year sentence for aggravated assault will run concurrently with his other sentence.
